Praise Report Week 44, 2021

This time I will start my Praise Report for week 44, with a very small recap of a Bible Study we had that week. It was from our local group. We discussed Proverbs 8: 1-113.

It was about wisdom and pride. The wisdom we have or get is not because of what we do or know. It is given by the Lord. We are only using what has been given to us. So it is not good to boast about it. If you want to boast about it, then we need to boast about God.

Overall, it was a nice discussion and something to think about in our daily life.

Sunday Service.

As usual, the setup of things went well. To our surprise, the sound system worked in one go and not many adjustments were needed.

Our Praise and Worship songs were nice. A combination of some known songs and some new songs. The songs that were chosen for that time are:

  • Faith, from Reuben Morgen.
  • Your Love Never Fails, from Anthony Skinner | Chris McC larney.
  • 10.000 Reasons, from Jonas Myrin | Matt Redman.
  • Man of Sorrow, from Brooke Ligertwood | Matt C rocker
  • Think About His Love, from Walt Harrah.

It was sometimes a little bit emotional. You could see this from the backup singers but also from the song leader.

The song “Faith” is the one that stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Thank you Praise and Worship Team for these songs.

For Thanksgiving, one person thanked the Lord for giving her husband one more year of life. It was his birthday. He had become 60. Despite his health condition, she was very grateful.

The Sermon.

The sermon today was on Habakkuk 2: 2-4.

The book or story from Habakkuk could be divided into three parts. Habakkuk 1: 2- 2:1 is all about Habakkuk’s complaint. Habakkuk 2:2-20 is about God’s response to his complaints. And finally, Habakkuk 3:1-19 is about his confidence in God.

The nice part of this book comes in the final chapter and verses;

“Though the fig were does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pet and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior”. (vv.17-18)

You can see, that despite all the problems and struggles in life, he (and we) live by Faith. Our Faith in the Lord will help and guide us through life. This is something we always need to keep in mind.

Closing.

Just a short closing thought. It was a week where Wisdom and Faith played a part.

We need to keep in mind, that the wisdom we have, is not because of what we do or know, but that it comes from God. Also, we don’t forget, that no matter the problems in life or the struggles we have, we need to have faith in God. He will be the one that will guide and help us.

And, as always, please take care and stay safe.

God Bless
